About Richard Parsons FIAPH

As a professional and experienced hypnotherapist Richard runs his Cheltenham Hypnotherapy Clinic in the centre of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. At 34, he has been practising hypnotherapy for over six years and runs one of Gloucestershire's busiest and most successful full-time hypnotherapy practices. Based at the Pittville Lawn Practice in Cheltenham, Richard's clinical hypnotherapy experience runs into thousands of hours treating a wide range of problems in both adults and children, particularly specialising in the causes and treatment of Social Anxiety, Sexual Dysfunctions, and specific phobias such as Emetophobia.

He regularly receives referrals from GPs and others therapists in Cheltenham and Gloucester, and works closely with IAPH colleagues in the Gloucestershire area.

Since 2001 Richard has studied and trained with experts in the fields of hypnotherapy, mental health and psychotherapy, and has himself become a popular and successful lecturer and guest speaker over the last few years.

Fellow of the IAPH

In May 2007 Richard was awarded a Fellowship of the International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysts at the IAPH annual conference for services over the years both to the IAPH and to hypnotherapy in general.

Only 10 Fellowships have ever been awarded since the IAPH was established in 1984.

"An IAPH fellowship is the highest accolade achievable in the organisation and is reserved for therapists who in some way, shape or form have made a SIGNIFICANT contribution to both the IAPH and the profession of hypnotherapy.

In the association the title of Fellow is held in high regard - since the IAPH was established 23 years ago only 9 Fellowships have ever been awarded.

In May 2007 the IAPH Council of Management awarded Richard Parsons a fellowship for his work. As well as running a highly successful full time hypnotherapy practice in Cheltenham he has been a dynamic and popular figure in the organisation over the last few years. He served on the Council of Management from 2004-2007 and continues to this day to provide support and help for many other hypnotherapists especially those new to the profession by regularly running training seminars and workshops.

We were delighted at this year's annual conference to recognise Richard's achievements in the therapeutic field, and his fellowship is well deserved."
